A University of Iowa med student, Shadee Giurgius, had a front row spot for the President’s speech in Iowa City yesterday. When he asked for an autograph, President Barack Obama took a black marker and wrote “Go Obamacare!” 

Obamacare is the term opponents coined for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a health care overhaul that Obama signed into law in 2010. To cut the number of uninsured Americans, it will require almost everyone to carry health insurance. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the law, saying the so-called individual mandate is within Congress’s powers.

But repeal of the law is a rallying cry for Republicans and presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who also campaigned in Iowa today.
